Ellen, Judy. So we camped overnight along Rocky Branch trail at around 3400 feet, near the last crossing of Rocky Branch brook. It was cold: 10F in the day, down to -10F at night, and rather windy. My camera batteries died so I have few photos. We decided that attempting to summit Isolation Sunday morning, in addition to breakfast, packing up and hiking out was a bit too much. After my next 2 hikes on Isolation, I now see this was a good call. There is a lot of extra work to be done for winter camping overnight, it's hard to say if a backpack trip really helps you reach a peak or not. sometimes you're still better off making it one long day trip.
