Panorama of the vista Right 2/2. The next 2 and 1/2 hours of struggle to reach the ski area was in fact shorter than returning the way we came, but... oh my god! At 6 pm we took our sleds down portions of the polecat trail under the full moon. The night view of white-capped Mt Washington and the lights of Gorham were beautiful. We were both punch drunk by then. At 7 pm, after an exhausting 11 hour hike, I thumbed a ride from Route 16 to get to my car, which was still 3 miles away. Thank you so much to the kind strangers who saved us from about 1 more hour of misery! When I started off in my car to get back to Wildcat parking lot to get Aaron I could not stop laughing.
